Europe Trip 2014

My family was lucky enough to be able to take a 2 week European vacation together this past June. Yes, I did say spending two weeks with my family was lucky—even after the trip is over. We did have a few minor disagreements….each hour…..but in the end we had a blast together and would do it all again in a minute!

WARNING! I’m going to be that annoying traveler who spends weeks reminiscing about my amazing trip complete with pictures and stories. The good news is that you aren’t in my living room and I do not have a slide projector so you can escape at any time! I also will not go into how much I missed our boys and how miserable they looked in all the pictures the babysitter sent us.

Photo: The kids look miserable without us.....

PS If anyone needs a babysitter recommendation-I know a great one, she was fantastic through several hairy moments and still managed some well-placed fibs ‘your kids are so well-behaved!’ —but that’s for another post!

Where to start?

How about Day 1! Barcelona

We arrived in Barcelona in the afternoon. Thanks to my ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ family, we had several bags to unload.

We visited an Ice Bar (it took me about 20 minutes to get the ‘icebarcelona’ pun)

Saw the beach

And finished it off with a very adventurous dinner of Tapas

Day 2: Barcelona
After a fantastic guided tour of Barcelona taking in some of the sights:

We boarded our Norwegian Cruise ship, unpacked, relaxed, and ate our first dinner onboard!

So how is it so far? Hey! Is that someone sleeping in the front row? Flash the lights I’m just getting started….
Next week: France
